1WHY do I need to have my chimney cleaned?
Creosote(soot) is a natural by product of burning wood. Creosote clings to the inner walls of your chimney, and is highly flammable. A chimney fire can result damaging your chimney and/or your home. An annual chimney cleaning removes this creosote build up.
2HOW OFTEN do I need to clean my wood burning fireplace chimney?
Depends on how often you use your fireplace. It is recommended that a wood burning fireplace be cleaned after one cord* of wood has been burned. In accordance to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Code 211 an inspection is recommended annually. (* A Cord of Wood measures 4' x 4' x 8')

5Does my GASLOG burning fireplace chimney require routine cleaning and inspection?
Absolutely. Routine inspection is imperative in avoiding a potential gas leak disaster. As far as cleaning goes, your gaslogs will deposit significant amounts of carbon to your firebox and chimney.
6SMOKE backs up into my house when I use my fireplace. Can this be helped?
Yes. Smoke problems occur for a variety of reasons. In some cases the fireplace has a poor draw, due to an obstruction in the flue. In other situations, poor construction of a chimney is the culprit. And other homes, wind blows down the flue causing backdrafts. We inspect and diagnose smoke problems.
7Can you stop WATER from leaking into my fireplace?
Yes. We check the chimney cap and exterior bricks for possible problems. In some instances, applying top of the line Chimney Saver Water Repellent will solve water leaks.
8Do you repair gaps and cracks in the walls of my PREFAB FIREPLACE?
Yes. We can replace badly damaged refractory panels. However, most cracks can be mended with high temperature fireplace cement.
9My fireplace SMELLS!!! Does this mean it need to be cleaned?
Maybe but not always. There are a variety of situations that result in the “burnt” odor in your home. Proper cleaning may help alleviate this. If chimney's smell worse on rainy days, then waterproofing chimney may help reduce odors by eliminating water entry in to chimney.
10I think I hear ANIMALS in my fireplace!
